Because I like to make other people’s lives easier, I’ve decided to put together a list of resources. Here you will find some products I couldn’t live without.
As if I didn’t have enough to study for college, I am a very curious person and I love to learn new things. Creativelive is where I go for free creative classes. I learned a lot about photography and design from their videos. Khanacademy is another amazing website when you can enroll in free classes and learn at your own pace.
If you’re an international student from a country where English isn’t spoken and you have to write homework and papers in English, you should get The World’s Best Grammar Checker, aka Grammarly. You should get it even if English is your first language! Seriously, your writing will improve a lot just by installing their web extension.
Sure, there are a lot of apps and small items that make my travels a little bit easier. But the best purchase I’ve ever made was my The North Face Borealis Backpack. I bought this as a gift for myself for my nineteenth birthday and we’ve been inseparable. This backpack is the perfect size, so I use it as a carry-on every time I fly somewhere. One time I went to Germany for three days and I packed everything into it. I’ve used this backpack even during all my years of university here in Italy. It’s truly amazing because it has a lot of pockets and there’s room for my keys, my phone, my kindle, my lunch, my books and there’s even a laptop sleeve. I’m planning to keep using it as I go to college in Toronto.
Want to start your own blog? When I moved to self-hosted, I was a bit lost. For every post I read suggesting one hosting company there was another saying how bad that was. Considering the fact that I was just starting this blog adventure and I’m a college student with a small budget, I decided to go with Bluehost. I got basic web hosting for $1.95/month + free domain registration + free custom email address. So far, everything is great and I’m happy with my decision to go with them.
